When the AI-based image generator Midjourney became good enough for its output to be used in professional productions, TTV wanted to be the first to produce a music video based on those images.
Hundreds of images were generated and around 20 were selected to be animated. The combination of artificial intelligence and the visual effects program After Effects created a mood that perfectly accompanied Katatonia’s melancholy soundscape.
The challenge was to bring the images to life. Even though the images are AI generated, many hours of work lay behind every effect and every little movement.
